Home funeral Guidance
Caring for your loved one’s body at home can provide a deep sense of connection and assist in the bereavement process. Because home funerals are not as common as they were 60 years ago, you may have a lot of questions. The goal with this service is to be the resource you need and explore how this option might meet your circumstances. If you are wondering why anyone would ever consider a home funeral, click here.
A home funeral may include*:
Caring for your loved one at home, in a church, or other places that allow privacy and comfort
Viewing, vigil, and/or funeral gathering at the location of your choosing
Bathing, anointing, and dressing
Building and/or painting a casket or creating a shroud
Include professionals, if desired
Spending time with the body that makes sense for the individuals involved
*Home funeral services provided by Rachel Cao, EOLD are on a consultative and educational basis only. Any after death care or care of the body is the sole responsibility of the family.
